Can a chess game end in a draw by agreement?

Yes. At any point, one player can offer a draw and, if the opponent accepts, the game ends as a draw immediately. Beyond agreement, games are also drawn by stalemate, threefold repetition, the 50-move rule, or insufficient material. In casual online play, draw offers are common in equal positions.
